Hopefully the fact that 2009 produced the first annual gain since 2005 (source: http://bit.ly/a2m0hN/) is a sign that the market is at least headed in the right direction, despite the December numbers. We can only hope the tax credit extension helps bring the market back.

It is a natural fact. 4.69% mortgage interest rates were found in 2009, and then it went up. This increase caused problems, so it is likely that 2010 mortgage interest rates will be lowered from the 5.19% rates that were found. This is an essential to keep people in a position where they can pay for there mortgages without too much strain.

This is all about the 2ndry markets not wanting to take risks. Biggest buyers of mortgage is still FNMA and FHLMC or should i say Uncle Sam. With nowhere else to sell to the options are limited as the two Govt. Agency;s try to rework their broken ballance sheets.

It's ashame they are making some of these changes. The FICO score one in particular. The whole point of the original program was to allow people to take advantage of the lower rate. If they can pay the higher rate/Payment they can probably afford a lower one. Now min FICO's and proof of income. Bad move..
